Anamacara
means "soul friends" in Gaelic, and that meaning is reflected in our kennel name, Anamacara Irish Setters.
Dogs really are soul friends. We have enjoyed over 35
years in the company of this breed, and look forward to many more.

Our Dogs
Our dogs are house
pets first and then find jobs in what they do best--the breed ring (conformation),
obedience, therapy dog work, etc.
We have earned titles in both American
Kennel Club (AKC) and United Kennel Club (UKC).
Our dogs have been hired for commercials, selected by artists as models
for limited edition prints, have been in photos selected for calendars,
and have been breed representatives at the Badger Kennel Club (BKC) Dog
Fair and Milwaukee Irish Fest for many years. Two of our dogs are Therapy
Dog International (TDI) registered, and routinely visit nursing homes. More...
About us
We are members of the Irish Setter Club of America (ISCA), Milwaukee Irish
Setter Club, Golden Triangle Irish Setter Club, and all breed club BKC. At BKC we conduct puppy-training
and obedience classes and serve on several committees. We also assist other setter owners
